The federal government has criticized Seattle for not spending their $7.4-million in transit grants on streetcar extensions along First Avenue and on Capitol Hill. The audit found that the city failed to properly manage its federally granted money, which had been inactive for over 5 years. Additionally, there were issues regarding a lack of paperwork for smaller projects and an overestimation of the budget for the Lander Street Bridge project. The neighborhood, home to many great bars and restaurants, is attractive to Death & Co due to its resemblance to the East Village.

$1,000 Reward Offered After Hit-and-Run Kills 80-Year-Old on Capitol Hill

The family of 80-year-old Bari Hill, who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, is offering a $1,000 reward for help finding the driver who is responsible. Police have identified a black or dark green Ford van with tinted windows and bars on the back windows as the suspect vehicle, and located the van at Shilshole Marina in Ballard. Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers or Seattle police detectives.
