Return of the Queen Anne: Northwest Railway Museum Receives Historic Talgo Bistro Car from Indiana Conservation Exhibition

The Northwest Railway Museum has received a donated Talgo Series 6 Bistro Car, #7304, the only surviving Amtrak Cascades car of its kind, which has been returned to the Pacific Northwest after conservation and exhibition in Indiana. The Talgo Series 6 trains were built in Seattle and dominated the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor for more than 20 years with their unique design features, and this particular donated car features an elegant Pacific Northwest interior designed by César Vergara, the "Raymond Loewy of today," who himself may receive recognition for his contribution to Latino heritage.

Virtual Police-Community Dialogues Offered for Queen Anne Residents in Seattle

The Seattle Police Department and Seattle University Research Team will be holding virtual community-police dialogues via Zoom for new SPD recruits completing the "Before the Badge" training program, giving community members the chance to share concerns and ask questions. Community members in the West precinct, which includes Queen Anne, can sign up for dialogues on March 13, April 24, Oct. 30, and Dec. 11 through publicsafetysurvey.org.
